One of the first eleven men drafted from Habersham County in the very first round of the newly-enacted Selective Service act.

WWII Veteran-- Enlisted in the U.S. Army January 18, 1941 at Fort McPherson in Atlanta Georgia. He Gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country. He was killed In Action in France in July of 1944 at the age of 29. Received Purple Heart posthumously.
