John B. Davis, Jr.

I grew up in Amy's Creek community of Habersham county on a 500 Acre farm. My Father, John B. Davis who is a WWII veteran and also a sawmiller. I entered the USAF on February 19, 1971. I was trained as an Aupilot Technician on 4 different Aircraft, C-5A, B-52, F-111, F-101. I worked on F-101, F-106's at Tyndall AFB. I was transferred to The Vietnam War in Southeast Asia and worked on HH-53C's at Nakhon Phanom Thailand. I was discharged on July 31, 1974. I received the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. I then attended college on the GI Bill at Western Carolina University and obtained a B.S. Degree in Industrial Technology. I worked in defense electronics for 30 years and then became a pastor at age 52. I then obtained a Masters Degree in Counseling from The Church of God Pentecostal Seminary. I am married to Dinah Ledford Davis and we have two children, Sophia and John Brian Davis, III who is a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army. We have five beautiful grandchildren. July, 2021
