After entering the service, Private Ausborn was attached to the 74th Company, 6th Regiment, United States Marines, American Expeditionary Forces, and embarked for over-sea service with this unit. Private Ausborn was killed in action in the battle of the Meuse-Argonne Sector, November 1st, 1918.
