Served a combined 20 years in the armed forces; 16 in the U. S. Air Force 16, and 4 in the U. S. Navy. His expertise of training was photography.

Navy: While in Washington, he was assigned to cover pictures for White House.

Air Force Duty Stations: Vandenberg, CA ; Hickam, HI
At Vandenberg AFB. he covered missile launchings.
