Ernest 'Buck' B. Snyder, Jr.

Ernest B. (Buck) Snyder enlisted in the United States Navy October 3, 1963. After completing Radar "A" School at Treasure Island Naval Training Command in San Francisco, CA, he reported aboard the Destroyer USS Johnston DD821 at Charleston Naval Base in Charleston, SC. He served aboard the Johnston until April 16, 1967 as a Petty Officer 2nd Class (RD-2) when he was mustered out of service. He returned to Georgia and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration at the Atlanta Air Traffic Control Center in Hampton, GA as an Air Traffic Controller until August 3, 1981. He then returned home to Cornelia on January 22, 1985 and began work at Cornelia Bank & Trust (later Community Bank & Trust) and later at Financial Supermarket Inc. retiring October 31, 2012 as Senior Vice President.
